Fifty-something Tommy lives in a Dublin bedsit. One night
he rescues Aimee, a young prostitute, from a beating on the
street. A tentative friendship develops between Tommy and
Aimee and the other men in the house. However, trouble
crashes into their lives when Aimee’s ex-boyfriend comes
looking for her. The Night Alive by Conor McPherson is
as relevant today as it was when it premiered in 2013. The
events of the play as they unfold in a crumbling Dublin house
are magnified by Europe’s refugee crisis and the squabble
among governments as to who should take responsibility
