The Terms and Conditions of Me & My Ma

Ireland.
2022.Geraldine has lost her job and Luke has lost his prospects. A mother and
son who are stuck at a dead end in their lives, they are desperate to find their
way out of the ailing circumstances that they find themselves in.
With
a parent stuck in the past, and a son only looking to the future, can a happy
ending ever be reached? And at what cost?

 

A new play written by Conor
Burke, directed by Conor O’Connell, and produced by Eruption Collective. Kindly
supported by Kildare Arts Service.

Conor recently
completed his MA degree at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in
London.

He graduated from
the BA (Drama) degree at Queen Mary, University of London, in 2018. In 2015, he
completed the Advanced Actor Training Course at Bull Alley Theatre Training
Company, Dublin.
Conor became the
youngest artist to write and perform a one man play at the International Dublin
Gay Theatre Festival in 2015 with his show,
Leaving
Narnia
.
He returned to the festival in May 2018 with
Ethan and Evan
and All They Know Now.

In 2017, his
second play,
Sophie, Ben, and
Other Problems
, debuted at the
Lion and Unicorn Theatre in London. The show transferred to The Tabard Theatre,
London before opening at Assembly Studios, as part of the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe
Festival where it was performed for a sold-out run. The show made its Irish
premiere at the Riverbank Arts Centre before opening for a week at the Boys’
School in Smock Alley. The play most recently played at the Moat Theatre Naas,
in a socially distanced capacity. In January 2022, the play made
its
West-End
debut in The Chiswick Playhouse, London.

In 2019, his
show,
The Terms and
Conditions of Me & My Ma,
opened as part
of the Scene + Heard festival at Smock Alley Theatre. 
His fifth play,
Everything is
Grand and I’m Completely Okay,
was selected for
development by Dublin Fringe as part of Fringe Lab 50. The show was performed in
The Moat Theatre Naas in August 2021, and also featured as a performance at the
UN’s global Queer Youth Network. 

After performing
the play in March 2022, the show made
 its Dublin
premiere at Smock Alley in August, making it Eruption Collection’s first
production. 
This was quickly
followed by
Absolutely
Fabulously Ridiculously Ugly
– a comedy about
the fashion industry, which Conor also penned.
